Cherry Hill Chamber changes its name
On Jan. 5, at a special meeting of the membership, Cherry Hill Regional Chamber of Commerce became Camden County Regional Chamber of Commerce and a new Cherry Hill Chamber of Commerce was formed.
The Chamber’s board of directors voted unanimously for the change at a November board meeting and the general membership overwhelmingly approved that amendment to the articles of incorporation.
Initially chartered as Cherry Hill Chamber of Commerce in April 1977, the change was made to acknowledge the growing geographic market of the chamber as it has added local chambers in Camden, Gloucester Township, the White Horse Pike, Winslow Township and Mount Laurel.
With more than half its membership outside of Cherry Hill, Chamber members said it is important to identify the organization with the entire county without diminishing the importance of Cherry Hill Township as the “Business Hub” of this part of the state.
