We’ve officially hit the vacation season … which means that there’s much less vying for your time and attention in terms of “must do” events.
But there are still some great opportunities to find out what’s going on – including one of my personal favorites, the Rutgers Business Quarterly, which is slated for the 28th.
It’s a new location (Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill), but the price is still right ($0), the pre-event networking still starts at 7:45 a.m., and the panel is (as always) superb.
This month you’ll hear from Herb Taylor, Vice President of the Philadelphia Federal Reserve; Judith Roman, the President and CEO of AmeriHealth New Jersey; Joseph Corbo, Jr., the Vice President and General Counsel of the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa; and Peter Leone, President of Leone Industries.
If you’re interested in the view from the Governor’s Office, head for the Burlington County Chamber’s monthly luncheon on the 15th to hear Office of Economic Growth Chief Jerold L. Zaro talk about the state’s economic goals and objectives, incentives that are offered to businesses, and outreach efforts to attract businesses.
And, if you’re looking for an update on the state budget, ask a member of the Burlington County Chamber to invite you as a guest to a special “Budget Overview” session with Assemblyman Lou Greenwald on the 22.
But remember that it’s members (and guests) only.
If you’ve ever considered applying for the year-long Leadership New Jersey program (the ultimate state-wide networking and public policy organization), consider the July 23 recruitment breakfast at Rutgers-Camden.
LNJ graduates (all 1,000 of them) consider it “a transformative experience,” so check it out.
Finally, since it’s a slow month, do a little advance planning and mark your calendars for August 14th for the Southern New Jersey Development Council’s annual Day on the Delaware.
And, while you’re at it, make a note to hit the Gloucester County Chamber’s End-of-Summer BBQ on the 27th. Here’s the rundown on what’s coming up:
