According to a survey published in the April 2009 edition of Entrepreneur magazine, the master of business administration program at the Rutgers School of Business–Camden is one of the nation’s best when it comes to preparing students to succeed in global management.
The Rutgers–Camden MBA program was among 15 programs nationwide to receive high marks from 19,000 MBA students who participated in a national survey by The Princeton Review. In the metro Philadelphia region, Rutgers–Camden and Temple were the only schools selected in this category.
The survey examined six core competencies for MBA programs: accounting, finance, general management, global management, marketing and operations.
Excellence in global management is not unprecedented at Rutgers–Camden. In 2003, the Journal of International Management ranked two Rutgers–Camden professors among the top 20 most prolific researchers in the area of international strategic management. Rutgers–Camden management professors Briance Mascarenhas and Rakesh Sambharya were named ninth and 20th, respectively, among 517 active researchers in terms of their contributions to international strategic management research.
Overall, the journal’s survey ranked Rutgers University sixth among 238 international institutions for its impact on advancing research in this management discipline.
The two Rutgers–Camden scholars also were ranked 88th out of 2,495 active researchers in the field of international business for research productivity during the period 1996-2006 according to a study that appeared in the Asia Pacific Journal of Management.
The Rutgers School of Business—Camden is the first institution in southern New Jersey to earn accreditation by the respected AACSB-The International Association for Management Education.
The Rutgers—Camden MBA offers concentrations in accounting, finance, marketing, management, international business, health-care management and e-commerce technology. The Rutgers MBA is offered in Atlantic County, Camden and Mount Laurel.
A joint MBA/JD program, offered with the Rutgers School of Law—Camden, is available for students wishing to earn two professional degrees on an accelerated schedule.
